February Wrap Up and Review

feb

We got some sweet, sweet winter snow.

February may have an extra day in it, but it’s still a fast month. I’m scrambling to get things done just about everywhere!

Though the weather has been nice for the most part, and we’ve had a bit of snow, Valentine’s Weekend was a bitterly frozen set of days. The wind chill brought the temp down to -34F or some incomprehensible number like that.

I finished theย edits on my MS and am now seeking a gamma reader, that’s what I’m calling the reader who looking for last minute oopsies. Plot holes and confusing passages have been all sewn up and cleared out.

Meanwhile, I’m trying to sort out the scenes for my next book, which I wrote in random order back in November. It’s a delicious mess!

While doing research, I ran across the video below. It’s a time-lapse of New Zealand’s Glowworm Caves. It is magical.

  1. It sounds like you’ve had a very productive February, HR! Well done. Such a short month. This year is going to zing by!

  2. Glad you finished your edits.
Freaky video. I could never get my wife in that cave though, not with so many worms on the wall.

    1. It’s so cool though! ๐Ÿ™‚ I stay away from the caves that have worms that drop acid on you and burn holes in your skin!

  3. You’ve been very productive this month! I didn’t accomplish much. I had to go get one of those job things, so I’ve been busy with that. The glow worm cave is awesome.

  4. February is a short month, but you’ve gotten a lot done. Me, not so much. The video is magical. I could see someone creating an intriguing and mysterious story with the cave and glow worms being the main theme.

  5. Hi Holly – love the video – isn’t Nature amazing … wonderful shots.

You’ve done well – and a few days yet to finish off all things … cheers Hilary

  6. Such a cool video. It’s the end of the road, eh? Final edits and then done. Wahoo! I bet you’re feeling a huge amount of relief. I’m looking forward to being in your shoes in about four months.

    1. Done, but isn’t that only the beginning?

  7. Sounds like a good February for you. =)
    That video is awesome.

  8. Woot on the edits! I’d offer to read again, but having read it before, I might not be helpful. I’ll wait until the final version is done. ๐Ÿ˜€

Very cool video. I love how they set it to music.

  9. I love caves but not sure about the worms. Still, it would be amazing to see.

-34? That’s cold. We were almost 70 today. With tornado warnings. Fun!

    1. Yes, I’ve heard there are tornado warnings all over the south. Not fun.

  10. That’s a stunning video. I haven’t used gamma readers before, but maybe I should.

    1. I suppose it’s not a “must” do, but since I needed to clarify some stuff which made changes elsewhere I’d like to have one more reader look at it.

  11. Interesting cave video–the world is an amazing and wildly varied place.

I saw some snow in the distant mountains visible from my house. I wish it would snow here in L.A. sometime. The roadways would be chaos. People would be so confused. I would be at home.

  12. Those worms are so cool! And great work on the edits. I can’t believe February is nearly over.

  13. Congrats on your progress! That is exciting, Cool video – I am undecided as to whether I would actually set foot in there or not. ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Oh my gosh on those glow worms so neat.

You made me laugh at the oopsies.

  15. Delicious messes are so wonderful to tackle! Here’s to getting that sorted out. I’m sure you will.

  16. Well done on the edits! Gamma readers sound quite far down the line, it’ll be well polished. Our weather’s been all over the place in February, had a lot of snow but now it’s warm. The glow worms were amazing!

  17. Such gorgeous glow worms. Truly magical.
    Congrats on finishing those edits.
March is upon us! (can you believe it?)

  18. We’ve had a very warm February here in Pennsylvania — with the exception of two snowstorms timed perfectly to interfere with some travel plans. Very considerate, Mother Nature.

  19. Holy moly, you HAVe been productive! Congrats on finishing your edits! I am still trying to figure out which way I’m going here lol. We got some snow too! And I’m not happy at all ๐Ÿ˜€

  20. Lovely to see you again, HR. Thanks for commenting on my recent post. I know very little about how to set up wonderful sites such as yours here. I’m still struggling just with the basics of WordPress. This isn’t easy at my age (75); like trying to teach old dogs new tricks. I CAN learn some new ones, but this technie stuff is beyond me. YOU, however, are incredibly talented; of course you’re a graphics whiz. Anyway, this is just to say that I’m looking forward to reading your MS that I hope you will soon have out. I’ve signed up to follow you via email. Cheers!

    1. You are so kind! WP is tricky, but once you get the hang of it you’ll be a whiz.

  21. Last minute oopsies. I love that.

I thought I commented on this one, but I’m not sure.
