WIP aka The Book
If things go as planned, I will finish the rough draft of my novel this month. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will meet my word goal, but that’s okay, it is after all only a draft. I am aware that I have some woefully underdeveloped scenes (okay more than some), so I’m not too worried about the final number. I also left stuff out – oopsies. I read on an author’s website that it is easier to flesh out than it is to cut out. I’m hoping he was right.
I’ve been blogging for almost seven months now. These little posts are a lot of work. First, ya gotta think of what to write, then how to write it, then actually write it, and then proof it. I am impressed with bloggers who’ve been blogging for years, kept a regular schedule, and kept it interesting. As for me, I’m switching to a warm weather blogging schedule. I’ll post twice a week instead of three. Of course, I made my mind up to alter my timetable on a nice sunny 70-degree day, now it’s rainy and 40 degrees. Go figure.
Several of my fellow bloggers give out great tips, handy hints, and awesome advice. I really, really wish I’d bookmarked those posts because I’ll never find them again.
I purchased a pie wedge server. It’s really nice – if you’re right handed. The serrated edge for cutting is only on one side, not the side useful for southpaws. You’d think I would have learned by now to check for those kinds of things before buying them.
Oh and all the super cool computer mouses are made for right-handers. The mouse pictured here is adorable but not practical. I think my hand would start cramping after ten minutes. Track balls work for both lefties and righties, but I don’t really care for track balls.
So here you have it, some random thoughts for Monday morning. Feel free to comment on them or leave your own random thoughts.
